Giving Thanks
Recently we were in Spoleto, Italy - for a much delayed planned trip. We had re-scheduled 3 times due to Covid. We had an absolutely wonderful time and at a later date I will share more photos once I have time to organize them all. This photo is from an amazing day we had exploring the Castelluccio area of Umbria - absolutely stunning!
We stayed in a house that is owned by the composer Gustav Mahler’s granddaughter. In the music room you will see an amazing library of scores and scores of music. Also, the room was filled with sculptures created by Gustav’s daughter. You could just feel the history and artistic energy oozing out of every nook and cranny in the room - it was truly inspiring and magical! Lorraine knew there were would be a piano in this room so she had packed some of her music from home with her.
I decided to try and video Lorraine playing one of my absolute favorite pieces that she plays - Ebb Tide. This will be a memory that we will both cherish forever… We share it with you as we pause and give thanks…
Please sit back, exhale, and enjoy -
