Moonset

Last Friday I went out to Race Point Beach extremely early to try and catch the crescent moon setting behind the Harbor Life Saving Station from the beach. When I arrived the sky was extremely dark and filled with clouds and no sign of the moon- off I went with my headlamp on. When I arrived down at the beach the sky was just starting to show the very first glimpse of morning light… and I looked up to see the clouds racing in the sky… I knew I would have a chance that the sky would clear!

I positioned myself where I thought I might have a chance… and it all happened! I find it extremely challenging to photograph in such dark conditions but it is something I keep trying to do… so here is the moment I was able to capture!

After that gorgeous crescent moonset I picked up my gear and headed down the beach to capture what I thought might be an incredible sunrise….

And the sunrise was glorious!

Happy Spring!
