They haven’t all left yet!
Hi Everyone…. I made it out to Bullitt this morning. This weather has been so gorgeous that I promised myself last night I would head out in the morning - I am so glad that I did. I arrived well before sunrise and as soon as I got out of the car I could hear a deer snorting in the woods on the edge of the field by the barn. I got my gear out of the car as quickly as I could as I was hoping I would eventually see the deer. I never did see the deer but wow he or she kept snorting a lot - clearly was not happy about something… maybe me!
I decided I wanted to make my way up to the upper field - I have lots of favorites spots up there. I made my way through the path in the woods (this section is not very long) just as the sun was coming up - it was just stunning. I was hoping to see an owl roosting - but I struck out. As I made my way to the path through that upper field I saw all kinds of birds flitting around further up in the weeds… needless to say I picked up my pace to find my spot and set up.
I am so grateful for all of you - your support and love continues to help carry me through each day. I also want to thank Lorraine - no doubt she had a hand in me seeing so many late warblers and beautiful birds in stunning early morning light today…
I hope that you enjoy -
Palm Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Just because I loved seeing this…
I wish I had been closer… but this is a Golden-crowned Kinglet. (first time I have ever photographed one…)
I was thrilled to get this shot… a Yellow-rumped putting on a show! Next four shots are also Yellow-rumped Warblers…
Having a little snack…
Looked right at me before flying off …
Junko
White-throated Sparrow
Very difficult to tell… but this is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. (I have only photographed one of these one other time…)
Last but not least… a sweet little Finch….
